Bianca (2x Cancer Survivor)

Bianca Muñiz, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 11. After successfully surviving this, she was later diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 22. As a two-time cancer survivor, she carries a unique gene mutation (TP53) that puts her at high risk for cancer. Bianca first started practicing yoga in college, which was also when she had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgeries. She used yoga to help her heal and to connect with her body again. Yoga helped her regain her strength and range of motion. In addition to all of the physical benefits, yoga helped her mentally throughout her cancer journey. She credits yoga as one of the biggest tools that has helped her recover from cancer. Bianca continues to practice yoga during this time of social distancing, and hopes to become a certified yoga teacher in the future.

Bianca and this yoga greeting card highlight breast cancer patients, survivors, and thrivers of all stages and diagnoses. Words that describe breast cancer have been used to create this image. The pose featured in this greeting card is called Warrior 1 (Sanskrit: Virabhadrasana I). It is a standing yoga pose that helps build focus, power and stability.

The inside of this greeting card reads, “You are a warrior!” This card was designed to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible strength of those who are diagnosed with, receive treatment for, and survive breast cancer.
